Finding Gold in Colorado
I enjoy traveling to new places. Even more, I enjoy traveling to new places during the fall season (particularly during foliage peaks). For the past 4 years, I’ve been journeying across different parts of the US to find the most brilliant and brightest fall colors. I’ve been unlucky for the first few years. Made trips to Arkansas in 2008 and 2009, but both years didn’t produce the colors that I was hoping. In 2010, I went to Chicago and enjoyed an abundance of colors. The colors were a bit past peak, but still magnif’ nonetheless.
This year, I decided to make my first trip to Colorado. We flew in to Denver and drove to Aspen. When I got to Denver, I got a bit confused, because everything was so flat. I honestly thought that I was back in Dallas, because the terrain looked so similar. But as we started making our trip to Aspen, I soon became in awe. There’s something about nature and colors that really puts me in a serene and peaceful state. The aspen leaves were peaking gold. Even with the sun reflecting back in my eyes, I didn’t want to blink, not even for a second. The mountains were breathtaking. The hikes were long, steep, and tough, but there was always an awarding view at the end which made the hike worth it. Aspen feels like a dream. Mountains surround you 360 degrees, people are very friendly, and everything there feels too perfect. I didn’t want to wake up.
