1. Desaturation
The first thing that I did with my image was desaturate it (grayscale).
To desaturate an image, go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate.
Although there is no color, the picture still didn't look old.
2. Noise
The next step was adding Noise (Filter>Noise>Add
Noise). I used 7% for my image.
3. Gaussian Blur
I then had to make it look fuzzy so it would seem like it
was old, so I used the Gaussian Blur (Filter>Blue>Gaussian
Blur). I set the radius to 0.5 pixel. The blur would
be barely noticable but if you look closely, you would be
able to see it.
4. Color Transform
I fould that sometimes images that have existed for a long
time turn up tan or light-brown. I decided to add a little
color to the image. So I went to change my color (Image>Adjustments>Color
Balance ) and added about 15% for the yellow level.
5. Feather
The last step that I did was use the selection tool to select
a square around the image. The square would be a slightly
smaller than the image. I then went to Select>Feather
and set it to about 22 pixels. I then Inversed the selection
(Select > Inverse) and pressed
delete three times. This gave me a faded effect on the image.
