Project #3

Modified Image #3
For this image, I tried to bring the winter season alive. This image took me the longest to create. It was extremely difficult for me to create the snow on the trees, but I then found a easier technique for doing it. Since it was so detailed, I will just explain a few techniques that I used for the image:

Snow on Trees
1. To create the snow on the trees, I first used Magic Wand and selected portions of the tree. Selecting on it one time did not select all of the leaves because there were a variety of shades. So what I had to do was repeatedly click on certain shades of the tree until most of the tree was selected.

2. After I got all of the selection from the tree, I used Feather and set the pixel to 2.

3. I then created a new layer and filled in the selection with a white color.

This procedure had to be done several time because, as you can see, there are a lot of trees!

Snowflake
1. This procedure is easier to show visually then through text-based only. But I will try my best to explain it. The first thing that I did was creat a triangle using the Polygon Lasso Tool. After than, I filled the selection with a white color.

2. I then started to cut out sections from the triangle. After it was done, it looks a lit like a cheese that you would see in cartoons (Tom and Jerry).

3. I then duplicated the layer to create the same object, flipped it horizontally and aligned it close with the other triange.

4. I then had to merge the two layers together. When that was done, I know had one side of the snowflake.

5. The final step was to create 4 copies of the layer and rotate each 90 degrees from the previous object. That's it.
